"How do you walk in those?"
"Are they comfortable?"
"Do you wear heels all of the time?"
Questions that I am asked almost everyday from both men and women. I mean people act like high heels are the new phenomenon. As a matter of fact, heels have been around since the early 1500s! Originally they were worn by men because the heel helped the soldiers feet stay in the stirrups when they rode a horse. It was until the mid 1500s that women started to wear them as a way to make themselves "even" with men and as a way to lengthen their legs.
Back to present day. Now don't get me wrong, there are times when I wear ballet flats, gladiator sandals, or even flip flops here and there. But I when I want to dress up, I break out the heels. No matter what my outfit looks like it's like a switch flips when I slide on my heels. Instantly, my head is up, shoulders go back, my legs look more toned and instant booty lift! Seriously, high heels are one of the few things in my closet that make me feel sexier and more confident than anything else I wear.
So that's must be it, right? The heel questioners must see it to?! They see the confidence these glorious (although sometimes uncomfortable) shoes bring and they are so drawn in that they have to ask! From now on, I'm not going to let it bug me. I'm going to take it as a compliment!
Do you get the same lovin' feeling when in heels? Ever been quizzed about your gear by a stranger?! Why do you think they do it?!
